A milestone a minute at the Krueger house...

Milestone #1:So last night was the end of an era for me. In one hand I hate to admit that it has taken me 9 long years just to achieve an Associates degree. But on the other hand I am SO proud to say that I have accomplished a goal that I set for myself, no matter the time frame surrounding it. In 2000, fresh out of my senior year of high school, I decided to start taking a couple of night classes at JCCC. My first 3 years I was pretty good about taking 2-3 classes per semester. Then marriage came, Delaney came, Garrett came...and I just wasn't getting as much done with school as I'd hoped. Finally one day my boss came to me and asked if I had plans on continuing my education because if I was the City was willing to reimburse me 80% of my tuition and books. So I looked into it again and started all over, this time taking 3 classes every Spring, Summer and Fall. And as of last night I took my LAST final, in college algebra, for my Associates Degree. =) It felt great!
Now I should mention that I only reached this goal because of my dear husband. He really stepped up and played the part of mom, dad, homemaker, etc. So that I could be gone for school anywhere from 2-4 nights a week (depending on the semester). He never complained, he just let me believe that he had it all under control so that I would keep going and reach my goal.
So when I got home last night, I had to smile, and laugh. There on the couch was Delaney and Jason, both asleep. And Garrett was just roaming around the house. There was a card with my name on it, from Jason. So I woke Jason up and he swore he wasn't sleeping just dozing off...lol. I could just see in his smile and feel in his strong hug that he was glad to have me home. Home for not just today, but every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to come. It's truely a wonderful feeling. Now we can just focus on the baby to be!
Milestone #2:
So after getting Delaney to her room last night, I asked her if I could see her tooth. It's been loose for a LONG time, and I knew it was ready. I asked her if I could pull it....She was nervous, convinced of the pain that would follow. So she offered me one try. I took it! I got a small piece of paper towel, and reached in and PULLED...She started to cry, and I told her it was still in there she didn't need to cry. With that Jason says from the hallway "told you it wasn't ready yet!" Well needless to say it was in my hand already. I just fibbed to her to stop the crying! As a reward (and becuase she didn't want to be in her room when the tooth fairy came) she got to sleep in our room on the floor beside my bed. The tooth fairy brought her two shiny quarters! She was so excited!!!
My little girl isn't so little anymore! Congratulations Delaney on your first lost tooth!
Love to all!
