"Nesting"

Wow this weekend was a bit overwhelming! But we got a lot done...not everything, but a lot. It's funny how no matter if we work from sun up to way past sun down, we never seem to get it ALL done!

It all started with a conversation between me and Jason. Then next thing you know we're deep cleaning Garrett's room, taking down Delaney's bed, creating bunk beds in Garrett's room, moving dressers, hanging pictures, changing bed clothes...

In the end Delaney has top bunk and Garrett has bottom and they are co-sleeping in Garrett's room. We decided for the next month or so we'll let them share, while we figure out space issues in Delaney's room (making room for a twin size bed, toys, a crib, etc)

Next we headed out to get blinds for Delaney's room to match the living room and Garrett's room. They look nice. We bought storage shelves to put in Delaney's closet to be used as a dresser, there are totes in holes that she can fill with clothes and all of her shirts are now hanging. Most of the toys are living in her toy bin in her closet as well, so now we really only need room for her book shelf, the twin bed and the crib in her room.

Delaney has decided that boy or girl she's sharing her room with the baby! So fine, we also took the time to get out the crib, clean it up and assemble to see just how much space it requires, not as much as I remember, but still the rooms in our house are SMALL! We washed all of the baby bedding and it's all ready to go, all baby clothes that we've purchased (all yellow and green and maybe 6 outfits) are hung in Delaney's closet, diapers and wipes and bibs and blankets are in their place. Things are coming together.

The only hard part now is convincing Jason we don't need to purchase a new bed for Delaney. We can just take the bunk beds back down. He likes the bunk beds in Garrett's room, Garrett likes the bunk beds in his room, Delaney wants a new bed, so in reality it's 3 to 1! And I'm the 1! We'll see. I can't see spending that kind of money on a mattress, box spring and bed when we have one that works!

At this point I'm too exhausted to worry about it. I feel better knowing things are a little more ready than before. We hadn't planned on doing it this way, our plan all along was to wait and see what we had (boy/girl) and then do the room thing...but both of us were feeling unprepared for baby so this helped! Our luck it's a boy and he'll be sleeping in a lime green room with butterflies and pink rock star signs all over the place...he'll be well-rounded if nothing Else~

Ha!

We go to the doctor today at 11:40...I'm sure there is no change. I feel the same today as I did last Wednesday when we went...just LOTS of really intense back pain! So only 9 more days to go until we FINALLY meet Bentley---Lucy for the first time!!! I'm ready, Hell I'm over ready...

Until next time,
Royal
