School bells are ringing!

It's amazing to think that I have a first grader and a preschooler at home now. I look at Lucy and think it was just yesterday that Delaney was her size!
So far Delaney has had 4 days of first grade and she is LOVING it!! I hope her enthusiasm for school continues beyond elementary school! She has a few friends from her kindergarten class in her first grade class with her. She likes her teacher Mrs. Diebert (I still miss Mrs. Smith LOL) She is doing better than I expected with being an all day student instead of just half day! I was worried she'd get hungry or tired before the day was up! But she's a champ! She even has homework every night which I love, I get to sit with her at the kitchen table and go over it with her and see what she's learning and it reminds me of when I was little doing homework with my mom!

Garrett, well he was SUPER excited to start preschool for a while now. He had his school supplies, his new clothes, his back pack that used to be Delaney's. He was ready. We got up this morning and he was all preschool all morning. We got to his school and we took some pictures and then it was time to go inside! Still doing fine, still smiling. Then it was time to go to his classroom and find his cubby and his name on the floor to sit on. Then the smile was gone. He was in tears. He didn't want to stay, and if he had to stay he wanted me or Daddy to stay with him. Broke my heart. I knew though, that he was going to love it at MCCC. Delaney did and he has the same teacher she did! So the teacher took over from there and hugged him while Jason, Lucy and I slipped out. We watched from the window as the tears stopped flowing. He wasn't smiling, or talking but he wasn't crying, so that was at least a step in the right direction! I'm sure he'll tell me all about his great day when I pick him up at 3 today! I honestly cannot wait until 3. I just want to know he's warmed up and his typical smiling self. Tomorrow I'll do a picture post so you can see just how cute my kids both were on their first days of school!

Now if I can just figure out how to keep Lucy little....
