I is for Important

"You is IMPORTANT" (a line from The Help) is so true.

Some times I have a hard time realizing how important I am...
Then I miss a day at work...
The place turns upside down when I'm not there. I do so much of the daily tasks that when I'm not there the day is not complete! Everyone is always excited when I return! When I went on maternity leave with Garrett I had to make up a whole binder of "How to survive while Royal's gone" (not kidding) It's nice to feel needed but it's also stress full to feel like you'll have messes to clean up when you get back! Ha! I'm important!

Then one of my kids gets sick. They need me to just hold them. Wash their hair. Hold their hair while they get sick. Buy them medicine. Take them to the Dr. Administer the medicine. Make them drinks. Make them snacks. Make them a pallet on the floor next to my bed. My babies are my world, so when they need me, I mean REALLY need me then it's important for me to be there for all of their needs!

Then I slow down on the household stuff. I skip a few days of laundry (not suggested for a family of 5). I put off going to the store. I don't do the weekly dusting...Then I wake up and realize I'm wearing shorts and it's 31 degrees out because all of my jeans are dirty. We're sitting at a clutter filled kitchen table and having cereal and biscuits for dinner! It's then that I realize I am important when it comes to buying the groceries, making the meals, cleaning the house and taking care of the kids! It's my role. I'm important!

Then I'm reminded that Jason chose me. He chose me to be his girlfriend over 15 years ago! He chose to take me back after I broke up with him. He chose to ask me to be his wife. He chose to make a family with me. And everyday he chooses to make our marriage work. He too is so very IMPORTANT, so much so that tomorrow J will be for Jason!

I is for Important!

I AM IMPORTANT!
