Visit the Maternity Care Coordinator (CHECK)

So Sunday morning we went to breakfast at Panera and then headed to our appointment with Monica, our maternity care coordinator, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center! We have lucked out and had Monica with all three of our kiddos now! So it's like going to visit an old friend you haven't seen in a while (in this case 3 1/2 years). We found out some of the new guidelines, filled out all of the medical paperwork for both me and baby. Asked any questions, heard about all the new features of the rooms etc. All in all it took less than an hour. But it was one more thing we had to mark off of our pregnancy list!

One of the guidelines she informed us about is going to be difficult for us. The maximum number of visitors in the room at one time is 3!!!!! Seriously 3!!!!??? I had like 10 in the room when I delivered Garrett, and then after they moved me to the new room I had 10-15 visitors at a time.....WOW. So looks like just Jason, Mom and Kimberly get to be in the room this time around. We might just have to wait and tell most people that we've delivered after we get home...If they only allow three visitors at a time and I have a HUGE family, I'll have visitors from sun up to past sun down every day!!! I'll need REST!!!! So we'll have to wait and see.

Jason also asked about the potential of going home after just 24 hours instead of 48 hours. Because by the second day we feel like prisoners and I'm always more comfortable in my own bed in my own house! Monica said that as long as I inform my doctor (Piquard) and baby's doctor (Winburn) that we want to be released after 24 hours they will either approve or deny us depending on health of both me and baby...so hey MAYBE!!!

Oh back to visitors....no children under the age of 14 are allowed because of the H1N1 and other cold viruses going around. The only two kids they'll let in are our two. That's different too!!!! So all in all it will take some getting used to!

Bonuses include:
They have Wi-Fi so I can update pics early! And blog my birth story!
Flat screen TVs in every room (Jason's favorite)
Refrigerators in every room
A whirl pool bath in all birthing rooms for ease of labor!!!!
We can get a fan! Jason won't have to complain about his arm being tired!!!! Since we can't have 12 different people in taking turns fanning my ass! (well not ass literally, but my face...no jokes!)
Coffee shop right across the entrance from L&D for goodies all the time!!!

So all in all one more step closer to being "ready" for baby! Today we go to the doctor for our 34 week appointment! I'm so ready!!!

Have a great day!

Its crazy how fast this has all gone. you are cracking me up with the prego check list but I assume its why you again are a success at being superwoman! Sometimes when I drive by SMMC I think darn if I could just deliever again it would be a like a vacay with all the new ammentities(sp)they have put in but then I quickly drive on with Dalton whinning about someting in the backseat and thank the lord its not even an option. Bummer about the visitors HOWEVER, your family/friends or as they might call it TROOP, is most likely the reason the rule was instated! LMAO! Just kidding! Good Luck Royal and I say BOY!
